Save your trip for this amazing 8-day discovery around the most impressive places of Armenia. The trip will include tours Garni, Geghard, Sevan and Dilijan. We will visit historical monasteries and sites that are considered to be UNESCO World Heritage sites. From Dilijan, we will move to Goris. We will take the longest reversible aerial tramway in Tatev. You will have the chance to visit Gyumri, which is one of the most important sites to visit while visiting Armenia. We will also visit Cathedral of St. Etchmiadzin, which is also listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. For the last day will take a city tour, climb up the Cascade at Yerevan; enjoy its weather and night city views!

Day 1

Arrival, meeting and transfer to the accommodation (preferred arrival times before the tour start day 4pm - 6am). There are preferred arrival times as it would be better to have some rest before the start of the tour. In case you have some free time our guide will advise how to spend your time, what to visit, where to eat.

Day 2

Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Yerevan

Garni pagan temple was built in the 1st. century A. D. and consists of dwellings, bath quarters built in the 3rd century in the Roman style. After Armenia converted to Christianity in the 4th century the Armenian kings used the temple as their summer residence. We will have a tour around Garni and also participate in lavash baking process. We will then have a lunch with traditional Armenian food. 

Proceed to Geghard Monastery, which is, by the way, listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The main church, constructed in 1215, is the oldest building in the monastery complex. The monastery has withstood many assaults. It was one of the greatest spiritual and cultural centers in Armenia. Hundreds of khachkars (cross-stones) and caves are carved in the rocks surrounding the Monastery. After the tour, we will return to Yerevan.

Day 3

Yerevan - Haghpat - Sanahin - Odzun - Yerevan

Early in the morning, we move to Lori. We will visit the Monastery Complex of Haghpat. The construction of this monastery is associated with the glory of the Bagratouni Royal Family. The oldest construction of the monastery was built in 977-991 and was called the Holy Cross church. They say, this water has curative qualities for people with poor health. A three-storied bell tower built in 1245 is a part of the complex.
We will continue on to Monastery Complex of Sanahin (UNESCO World Heritage). Sanahin is a monastery complex the most prominent structure of which is the Savor's Church (956-967). The eastern part of the church holds a bas-relief depicting the two princes holding the miniature copy of the actual church. The Sanahin Monastery had many feudal properties, a great number of estates, lands, vineyards, oil-mills and factories. We will also visit Odzun Chruch constructed around the 5th-7th century in the Odzun village. Return to Yerevan. We will overnight at Yerevan.

Day 4

Yerevan - Sevanavank - Haghartsin - Goshavank - Yerevan

Gegharkunik region has rich cultural heritage and amazing nature. The first stop of your trip is Lake Sevan peninsula. Here, you will see an IX century monastic complex Sevanavank. A number of IX-XIII centuries particular cross-stones can be seen here. Don’t miss your chance to see one of the most interesting and a unique cross-stone in Armenia which is situated in Holy Apostles church. Continue our way towards Dilijan. After having a lunch, we will visit Haghartsin, which is a 13th-century monastery located near the town of Dilijan and then move to Goshavank, which is a 12th or 13th-century Armenian monastery located in the village of Gosh. Return to Yerevan.

Day 5

Yerevan - Kharahunj - Tatev - Yerevan 

We move to see the Zorats Karer.  Also known as Carahunge and acclaimed as the Stonehenge of Armenia, Zorats Karer is an ancient astronomical observatory that occupies seven hectares of land and sits on a high plateau near the town of Sisian in the Syunik Province of Armenia. Graves and stones together form a mythical place of worship having a special appearance. Then we will head to Tatev. In Tatev there is a cable railway over the spectacular gorge of Vorotan near Halidzor. Wings of Tatev is a 5.7 km (3.5 mi) cableway between Halidzor and Tatev Monastery. It is the longest reversible aerial tramway built in one section only. Construction was finished on 16 October 2010. Taking the aerial tram called the Wings of Tatev, you will "fly" above the gorge of Vorotan river. You will see the nature of the amazing mountainous region of Syunik from the birds-eye view.

Day 6

Yerevan - Harichavank - Gyumri - Aruch - Yerevan 

We go to discover Gyumri. On our way to Gyumri, we will find out the miracle of Harichavank. This XIII Complex with Theological College used to be the summer residence of the Catholicos (Patriarch) of all Armenians. We will discover the places where the monks could hide during the invasions. Moving on to Gyumri. Gyumri is one of the most important sights to visit while visiting Armenia. There is much more one can experience in Gyumri: very hospitable and smiley people despite the experienced hardships over time, lots of spotless culture and traditions. You will sure come back impressed with the city and of course with a bag of anecdotes told by the locals. We will then move to Aruch, where will visit Aruchavank (or the Cathedral of Aruch). It is situated on a rocky plateau at the western foot of Mount Aragats in the village of Aruch in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. Drive back to Yerevan.

Day 7

Yerevan - Etchmiadzin - Khor Virap - Yerevan

Early in the morning, we move to Etchmiadzin. On the way visit to the church St. Hripsime. This is a masterpiece of architecture and a marvelous example of a cross-cupola architecture of the 7th century. We reach for Cathedral of St. Etchmiadzin (UNESCO World Heritage). Liturgy takes places on Sundays only. This oldest Christian temple was founded in 301 and is one of the first churches in the Christian World. Holy Mass takes place on Sundays in the Cathedral. We will the go to   Khor Virap, which is an Armenian monastery located in the Ararat plain. Return to Yerevan. The evening is free you can attend cultural centers. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 8

Breakfast. Apartment check out (12pm-2pm). Transfer to the airport. Departure.
