Summary

Save your trip for this amazing 8-day discovery around the most impressive places of Armenia. The trip will include tours Garni, Geghard, Sevan and Dilijan. We will visit historical monasteries and sites that are considered to be UNESCO World Heritage sites. From Dilijan, we will move to Goris. We will take the longest reversible aerial tramway in Tatev. You will have the chance to visit Gyumri, which is one of the most important sites to visit while visiting Armenia. We will also visit Cathedral of St. Etchmiadzin, which is also listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. For the last day will take a city tour, climb up the Cascade at Yerevan; enjoy its weather and night city views!

Day 1
Arrival

Arrival, meeting and transfer to the accommodation (preferred arrival times before the tour start day 4pm - 6am). There are preferred arrival times as it would be better to have some rest before the start of the tour. In case you have some free time our guide will advise how to spend your time, what to visit, where to eat.

Day 2
Garni

Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Yerevan

Garni pagan temple was built in the 1st. century A. D. and consists of dwellings, bath quarters built in the 3rd century in the Roman style. After Armenia converted to Christianity in the 4th century the Armenian kings used the temple as their summer residence. We will have a tour around Garni and also participate in lavash baking process. We will then have a lunch with traditional Armenian food. 

Proceed to Geghard Monastery, which is, by the way, listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The main church, constructed in 1215, is the oldest building in the monastery complex. The monastery has withstood many assaults. It was one of the greatest spiritual and cultural centers in Armenia. Hundreds of khachkars (cross-stones) and caves are carved in the rocks surrounding the Monastery. After the tour, we will return to Yerevan.

Day 3
Amberd

Yerevan - Amberd - Kari Lich - Yerevan

We start our trip to Lake Kari. Lake Kari, is located in the slopes of Mount Aragats mostly formed by ice and snow. From Byurakan village an asphalted automobile road stretches towards the source of Arkashen River, the lake Kari, located on a plateau below the peaks. After lunch, continue to one of the ancient castles of Armenia Amberd (X-XIII century). The name translates to "fortress in the clouds" in Armenian. The village of Byurakan is located 4 miles (6.4 km) away from the site of Amberd. From the road one can see another beautiful mount: Ara, which is named after the legendary Armenian King-Ara the Beautiful. After the tour, we will return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 4
Yenokavan

Yerevan - Sevanavank - Yenokavan - Yerevan

Gegharkunik region has rich cultural heritage and amazing nature. The first stop of your trip is Lake Sevan peninsula. Here, you will see an IX century monastic complex Sevanavank. A number of IX-XIII centuries particular cross-stones can be seen here. Don’t miss your chance to see one of the most interesting and a unique cross-stone in Armenia which is situated in Holy Apostles church. After Sevan, we move to Yenokavan. Yenokavan is a village and summer resort in the Tavush Province of Armenia. If you are extreme lovers, you will have the chance to take a flight on a zipline here. You can also have lunch boxes and organize a nice picnic in a fresh air. Return to Yerevan.

Day 5
Yerevan

Free day in Yerevan

 It's a free day, you can enjoy your late morning and breakfast. After breakfast, you can go to the city for a walk, go to museums and galleries or do shopping on your own. After dinner, in the evening, you can enjoy the fountains of the Republic Square. You can also or go to the pubs and clubs no matter what day it is as Yerevan is a place where every day is a Friday. We will help you organize your day based on your preferences.

Day 6
Tatev

Yerevan - Kharahunj - Tatev - Yerevan 

We move to see the Zorats Karer.  Also known as Carahunge and acclaimed as the Stonehenge of Armenia, Zorats Karer is an ancient astronomical observatory that occupies seven hectares of land and sits on a high plateau near the town of Sisian in the Syunik Province of Armenia. Graves and stones together form a mythical place of worship having a special appearance. Then we will head to Tatev. In Tatev there is a cable railway over the spectacular gorge of Vorotan near Halidzor. Wings of Tatev is a 5.7 km (3.5 mi) cableway between Halidzor and Tatev Monastery. It is the longest reversible aerial tramway built in one section only. Construction was finished on 16 October 2010. Taking the aerial tram called the Wings of Tatev, you will "fly" above the gorge of Vorotan river. You will see the nature of the amazing mountainous region of Syunik from the birds-eye view.

Day 7
Yerevan

This is your last free day! You still have time to explore places you haven't been yet. We will help you organize your day based on your preferences.

Day 8
Etchmiadzin

Yerevan - Etchmiadzin - Khor Virap - Yerevan

Early in the morning, we move to Etchmiadzin. On the way visit to the church St. Hripsime. This is a masterpiece of architecture and a marvelous example of a cross-cupola architecture of the 7th century. We reach for Cathedral of St. Etchmiadzin (UNESCO World Heritage). Liturgy takes places on Sundays only. This oldest Christian temple was founded in 301 and is one of the first churches in the Christian World. Holy Mass takes place on Sundays in the Cathedral. We will the go to   Khor Virap, which is an Armenian monastery located in the Ararat plain. Return to Yerevan. The evening is free you can attend cultural centers. Overnight in Yerevan.
